The George Brothers visit Room 1 and 2!!!!!!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed having the George brothers join us for PMP. They had lots of fun skipping, cross-crawling, throwing and catching balls, balancing and playing the memory card game. They especially enjoyed crawling through the dark tunnels with us.

George Brothers Enjoy Hanging Out At St Andrews School

The George Brothers have been enjoying participating in the Kiwiana Variety Show practices that St Andrews School has been busy doing! They especially like the singing!

The George Brothers have been working with Room 5 to find out all about the earthquake on Saturday. They're amazed at all the destruction it caused and feel lucky to be in Timaru and not Christchurch!

They have been a little scared from all the aftershocks though and have kept close to their Room 5 friends.

Kiwi Can and Integrity

A couple of weeks ago Room 3 at Barton Rural were so glad when Curious and Creative joined them at Kiwi Can. Ritchie and Dom were working with the children to understand how to use integrity when someone is not being included in a game. Ritchie and Dom were really happy when Room 3 included Curious and Creative in the class game.

We hear Creative and Curious are off to visit another school now. We hope you have lots of fun there and the children there show integrity.
From everyone in Room 3 at Barton Rural School

St Andrews Room 3
The George's talking with Room 3 about the terrible earthquake that struck on Saturday morning. They feel really sorry for all the people that have suffered loses. They are relieved no one was killed during the earthquake. They think maybe they need to get a survival kit organised at their own homes.

George Brothers at St Andrews

The georges loved doing papier mache with Room Three. Sorry about the mess but they couldn't resist getting into the lovely ooey gooey glue. Shame they ripped up todays Press for their work!!!!!

The brothers were enjoying the whole school rehersal for our performance at the end of term.

The brothers arrivied las week but went into hiding. On Monday morning they were found in the library sitting on books that had shifted in the earthquake. Luckily nothing was damaged.

George Brothers see the stars.

On Monday the 23 August the George brothers went to see the stars. No they did not go to the moon on a spaceship but the Science Alive Star Dome visited Barton Rural School. Creative and Curious visited with Room 4 and 5. At first they were a bit hesistant to go inside the dome as it was very dark and they had to go through a tight tunnel to get inside.

Once inside they learnt about constellations, galaxies, the moon and all the planets. They saw the moon as we see it in the night sky and the phase it is in at the moment, the Waxing Gibbous. They were especially interested in the constellation Orion. Creative thought he looked very similiar to Orion, a big, strong hunter. The brothers had a lot of fun inside the dome but were thankful to eventually get outside into the daylight.

The George Brothers visit Room 4 at SHPS

Creative and Curious George were excited to be in Room 4, but they weren't too keen to go outside for fitness. The students told them that it wasn't THAT cold and they needed to stop complaining!
The George brothers came to maths in Room 4. Creative George got a turn on the interactive whiteboard with the maths kids. He had lots of fun. He thinks it's easy because the question was: half of sixteen.

In writing we are working very hard on our own Myths and Legends books. Curious George and Creative George were very impressed with them. They kept an eye on us and helped us edit our work and type onto the computer. They even said they want to come back and read our picture books when we are finished.
Some students are preparing for the Gymnastics festival at the moment. The George brothers enjoyed watching them and even tried to join in. We were worried about them getting injured, but they stretched first and seemed to be ok. (We think Curious George got a bit scared on the beam - he doesn't like heights much!)
We had a fantastic day with the George brothers and look forward to seeing what they get up to in other classes around the region.

Room 1's Creative Writing about Curious and Creative George.

Monkeys VS Caroline (BOT Chairperson)
Down at the netball courts Creative and I decided to have a little fun. We were sitting in the pavilion when we heard a bell and someone say, “Quarter time”.
“I thought this was netball not maths,” said Creative.
“It is netball!” I replied.

Anyhow, about a minute later we saw a lady walk out of a door that read ‘OFFCIALS ONLY’.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” we said to each other.
“Come on let’s go!” I called.

After about a million stairs, which took forever to climb, we finally got to the office. With a massive leap we were on the gigantic desk.

“My turn to speak” said Creative. Me, being my normal ‘curious’ self, found the…microphone! I was about to introduce myself when Creative snatched the microphone, and told me not to do it, otherwise we would get in heaps of trouble.

We ended up having a cat fight over the microphone. My great, but annoying brother Creative threw it out the window.

“I did not you did it!” yelled Creative, angrily.
“Ok, ok, whatever!” I said, and then the phone rang. We didn’t exactly know what to do at first, but then we decided to work as a team to answer it. With a huff and a puff we managed to pick up the phone.

“Hello,” I said.
“Hello, Boys!” the voice boomed. I realised it was Caroline, and we were in deep trouble. We used our defence skills and tried to run away. But it didn’t really work. Caroline got a hold of us and pinned us to the fence for punishment. And that's pretty much how our fun ended.

Room 10 Sacred Heart

Curious George and Creative George spent Friday in Room 10. They were impressed with the Kiwiana we made in Discovery Time. They played in our playground and watched us skip. They went to the Basilica for Mass and were very well behaved. We were worried about leaving them at school over the weekend so Curious George went home with Mrs Moynihan to Cannington and Creative George went home with Miss Field, so he could go skiing on Monday with the seniors.
Curious George loved riding on the T-Rex chasing sheep and in the tractor to feed out to the cattle.

Visiting Room 5 (Year 7&8) at Timaru Christian

Well the brothers only had an afternoon with us, but they enjoyed reading about the 'clean' cup issues reported in that morning's paper and how it related to our water cycle unit. It was interesting to note that the toilet seat may be cleaner then your teacher's coffee cup or the sink you wash your hands in. The brothers also had fun using the Bloom's "Thinking Hats" to brainstorm how they could become New Zealand's leading "Hip Hop" duo. They also helped Samantha answer the quiz questions on our Wiki page! Good luck boys on your adventures!!
(Oh yeah that is me holding a "Sucker Fish" in Bluff. First one I have ever seen. Found it in a close to dried up water pool (alive) and it latched on to me right away. Gave it a better water pool to live!

The Georges in Room 4 at Winchester

Wow, what amazing fun Curious and Creative George have had over the week in Room 4 helping us with creating Windows Movie Maker slideshows. We have been showing them how to take pictures with digital cameras and importing these into Movie Maker and adding transitions and sound. The slideshows were all about shipping disasters and we got to draw each slide in our show and then take a photo of it. One day at morning tea time during Read and Feed Curious got covered in yoghurt. “Oh no” everyone said. Creative laughed. Curious looked like he hadn’t been up to mischief. But he had!
Here's Creative and Curious on our school bus with us on the way to our Music Festival singing practice with Temuka, Arowhenua and St. Josephs Temuka Schools. They sang really well even though they didn't know the words very well.

The George Brother's in the workshop!

The George Brothers were very excited because they were going on the bus to TTEC in Timaru with the lovely Year Eight class from Pleasant Point Primary School.
The monkeys went to the Hard Materials class first. They loved wearing the saftey googles although they were way to big for them. Mr. Sharples (the teacher) got really angry with them because they kept on playing with the hammers and nails. In the end through they were playing piggy back and were becoming great friends!?!?!

Next they went to the Electronics Class. They loved the Year Eight's designs but wanted to manufacture their own. The brothers kept on copying Jordana's test answers, but later were caught red handed on camera!
Soon it was 11.45am and we had to make our way back to school!

The Brothers visit Waitaki 3 at PPPS

The George Brothers helped George and George with their work on the living world when they visited Waitaki 3 at Pleasant Point Primary.

"We learnt all about adaptations"

" We also learnt about vertibrates and invertibrates"
"Did you know that a spider is an invertabrate"
Creative George wanted to join in and draw a picture but there wasn't enough time.

"George and George shared their reports with us."
"They were very busy in Waitaki 3."
As Curious George left, he said he had learnt heaps of stuff about animals.
