Curious and Creative on the Magic Carpet

Curious and Creative had an awesome day in Room 11. They were lucky enough to be in our classroom when we were about to take off on our Magic Carpet to England. Room 11 has been all over the world on our Magic Carpet and have learnt some really cool things. Curious and Creative listened to some children share there research or objects about England. They learnt heaps about a double decker bus,the Queen, Big Ben, the England flag and Union Jack. They also got to try some scones with jam which were really yummy!!

We hope that Curious and Creative get to go on lots of new adventures as they make their way around the schools in Ashburton.

We are Winners!

The George Brothers were very happy to visit room 8 and spend the day with the children. Curious George listened well when the children were sharing their news about taking part in the Weet-Bix Triathlon in the weekend. Creative George wanted to wear the children's medals all day! The children hoped that the George Brothers have fun on their travels, around the Ashburton Schools.

Room 9 Allenton School - Friday 16 March

This is our shared writing.

On Friday the George Brothers came to visit Room 9 at Allenton School. We were the first class to meet them and we felt really happy. We all had a turn looking after the George Brothers.

They came with us to learn about ambulances, helping people and how to ring 111. Curious had a turn with the breathing mask. He thought that was pretty cool.

The Brothers also learnt how to use the library computers and helped us at buddy reading time.

We showed them our Maui and the Sun powerpoint that we made using our kidpix pictures. Curious and Creative were very impressed with our presentation and learnt lots about Maui.

They had lots of fun and we really enjoyed having them visit us.

Today Curious and Creative worked very hard with some teachers from the cluster. They helped make Wiki pages and even some Vokis.

They enjoyed their lunch time being able to sit down with no disturbances.

Tomorrow they will be travelling back to eTime, but they look forward to visiting their first school real soon.

The Brothers visit the Practicum

Curious and Creative enjoyed spending the day with the first practicum group. It was a beautiful day and the teachers learnt lots. Creative learnt that web 2.0 relies on a stable internet connection. Curious decided to Rally Telecom for ADSL2+.

Creative George shows Curious some Web 2.0

Today, Creative George tried to explain to his brother, Curious, what Web 2 is. He explained that Web 2 was a new type of web site that allowed people to read and contribute to the site. Like a blog.
Creative decided to start a blog to teach Curious how to do it.
